Observation 4

The topic that my research paper will be on is the use of anti-drug and cigarette commercials that are posted on television to prevent teens from experimenting with both these problems. Testing the effectiveness of these commercials and the purpose they are trying to develop will determine how well constructed these organizations are and what potential they may have in eliminating teens from using both these lethal products. Anti-drug and cigarette organizations use media and the support of people in order to eliminate the number of people being affected by both of these products through the use of television commercials, public presentations, and informational text.
When researching about my topic I will use examples of commercials that are seen on cable television in order to present what my paper will be revolved around. I will also like of sources through the website, newspapers, magazines, books, and organizational promoters. The more the information I can gather the better it will be for me on order to make an effective argument.
The most difficult part of my research will be criticizing the commercials for anti-drug and cigarettes because they probably could be improved and altered so that they would have more effect on the audience. Developing ideas for new commercials and ads will allow for a broader audience to be persuaded and will allow people not a part of the rhetorical audience to be affected. Following this outline will work in accordance with the writing of my paper so that it can be written correctly and effectively

  2. You should try to interpret how these commercials not only aim to stop drug and cigarette use but how they intend to prevent younger teens from starting these habits initially. Your thesis statement is clear and allows for elaboration after you research your topic. Also, I believe you could find a good many journal articles on these commercials that would be helpful to your research. I agree with the obstacles you believe that you face but my advice is to analyze the commercials as much as possible and maybe even get a friend to watch a commercial and see what they thought of it to help you analyze the ads.
