Observation 7

I identify myself with various social categories. The most obvious identity that I categorize with is my gender. My identity as a female certainly dictates how I dress. The clothing that I wear identifies myself as someone who appreciates my body as a female. Another identity that I belong with is my race, a Filipino, because my family originated from the Philippines and I was born there. I also identify myself as a student, which mainly dictates how I dress. A student has a busy day, so I usually limit my time when it comes to dressing for class. Therefore, during class, I tend to dress more casual and comfortable, but at the same time portray my femininity. I have both my ears pierced, which also shows my feminine side. Accessories also mark my body as a female, or even a student, especially with my watch when I know I have to be organized. My make up is very light and usually looks like I have nothing on at most times. This somewhat identifies me as a Filipino because my parents advocated little use of make up. My hair also identifies with my race because it contains of my natural hair color.
